Met at Kate’s Pub (where everyone knows your name and, more importantly, your drink) for a casual business meeting.
Whitman was a photographer and Lindsie was a recent grad with a brand-new marketing job. Working at an (inevitably) failing start-up, Lindsie’s boss had a hard time coming up with things to task her with so, when it came time to hire an event photographer, she sent Lindsie to the interview due to her ‘photography experience’.
After a 10-minute conversation about Whitman’s photography background and plans for the event, Whitman was hired.
but their beers weren’t finished…
Lindsie’s roommates (never ones to turn down a trip to the bar two blocks away) followed close behind even though Lindsie insisted this was a work meeting. They were enjoying their usuals at a nearby booth so, Lindsie, still unsure of how professional meetings were supposed to run, invited Whitman to merge tables with her roommates and the two continued to chat late into the evening.
Taking her ‘big-girl job’ very seriously, Lindsie intended to get a business card and add Whitman to her rolodex. Plus, she was not even looking for a relationship at all, in any sense of the word, and was only focused on herself, her career and being single…
Whitman’s Abridged Version™
Whitman meets Lindsie - and looks for any excuse to run into her over the next few months.
Whitman begins not so subtly referring to her as “Hot Lindsie” and finds any reason to talk about her to friends. Friends feign to pay any attention to Whitman’s ramblings.
Whitman somehow convinces Lindsie to start dating him, and so begins a string of late nights dancing, excursions to take photos, and 257 concerts.
Whitman hatched a plan to trap Lindsie with an adorable cat.
This plan was incredibly successful, but this did nothing but further encourage Whitman. Soon they decided to find a nicer place for the cat to live and maybe some more space for themselves.
Over the next 5 years (citation needed), the two continued to dance and explore together. Eventually finding themselves on a beach in the Yucatan where Whitman decided to make things so, very official.
